Harbour Island holidays, Eleuthera A wonderful tropical island with pink sandy beaches and reef protected shores
Harbour Island sits approximately 1.75 miles off the eastern coast of Eleuthera Island and 60 miles east of Nassau. It is blessed with wonderful reef protected beaches and is fammous for the 3 mile stretch of pink sand that runs down its eastern coast. Whilst there is the option of doing absolutely nothing apart from chilling out on a deserted beach, Harbour Island has a good selection of cafes, bars, restaurants and several shops in Dunmore Town which is the main hub.
Getting to Harbour Island from North Eleuthera International airport is pretty straight forward. You need to get a taxi to the ferry terminal which takes around 10 minutes then take a water taxi. It costs around $7 per person and takes a further 10 minutes. Once on Harbour Island, you don't need a car. It's only 0.5 miles wide and 3.25 miles long so hiring a golf buggey is the best way to get around and there are plenty of rental companies.
